About Glogglz — 15+ Years of Sports Eyewear, Born in Florida

In 2011, on the sun-drenched waters of Florida, USA, Glogglz was born out of frustration. Competitive watersport athletes were tired of losing sunglasses in the surf, dealing with fogged-up lenses, and watching cheap nose pads disintegrate after a few saltwater sessions. They needed eyewear that could handle the real conditions of ocean sports — not fashion accessories marketed with adventure photos.

That’s exactly what Glogglz became: purpose-built sports sunglasses, designed by athletes who actually use them in the harshest conditions on earth. Every model features an adjustable nylon strap with butterfly clasp (extensively tested in saltwater), nose rubbers specifically engineered to resist saltwater degradation, polarized UV400 lenses, and impact-resistant polycarbonate frames.

From Florida to 30+ Countries Worldwide

What started in Florida quickly grew into a global brand. Over the past 15 years, Glogglz has been worn by kitesurfers in Brazil, windsurfers in South Africa, SUP riders in Australia, triathletes in Germany, and cyclists across Europe. In 2024, Hugo Verburg took over Glogglz and moved the brand’s European operations to the Netherlands. With fresh energy and a clear mission, Hugo is focused on making Glogglz the go-to eyewear brand for every serious watersport athlete in Europe and beyond.

Why Saltwater Testing Matters

Most sports sunglasses are tested in labs. Glogglz models are tested in the ocean. There’s a critical difference: cheap rubber nose pads and straps degrade rapidly when exposed to saltwater.
